ABOUT US

At Hima Nursery, Inc., our passion lies in cultivating and offering a wide selection of PNW native plants. While native plants are our specialty, our diverse inventory includes ornamental grasses, shrubs, trees, and perennials. We grow almost all container sizes, ranging from 1 gallon to 20 gallons, and we also proudly grow larger Balled and Burlapped (B&B) trees at our Everett farm, ranging from 1″Cal to 6″Cal.

Please note that our farm operates by appointment only. If you’d like to explore our offerings, receive pictures of our trees, or schedule a visit to tag trees, don’t hesitate to reach out. Our dedicated sales team is ready to provide you with pricing details and arrange convenient pick-up or delivery options.

OUR VISION

Indigenous flora, having naturally acclimated to the local soil and climate, embody exceptional resilience to pests and disease and ease of maintenance. Their innate compatibility with the regional bees, butterflies, birds, and other wildlife emphasizes their role as a prime source of nectar, pollen, seeds, and fruits, thereby enriching the lives of the native wildlife while concurrently fostering habitats.

When thoughtfully accompanied by fellow natives, these Native Species thrive without the need for supplemental fertilization or excessive watering. Their robust root systems not only mitigate erosion but also enhance the soil’s capacity to retain water, curbing runoff and decrease the risk of flooding. Moreover, their multifaceted benefits include the reduction of air and water pollution, the advancement of biodiversity, and the augmentation of natural beauty that they exude.

OUR NAME

The term “Hima” finds its roots in ancient heritage, originating from the Arabic language, where it signifies a “protected land”. In history, “Hima” denoted a sanctified pasture, carefully designated to shield trees and curb rampant grazing. The essence of “Hima” encapsulates a space that not only enriches society but also harmonizes with the environment, refraining from heedless actions for mere economic gains. These enduring principles of preservation and sustainability serve as the cornerstone of our Nurseries’ ethos.
